wire rack

by DonnaP
09/11/2014

First of all, I feel that Simplehuman is a great company with excellent customer service. I like this rack and purchased it because I saw it in my son's kitchen and copied him! The slots for knives is a simple but brilliant feature because it protects the handler from any surprises when reaching in to scoop out silver ware and finding any surprise knives that may cut. I like the funnel at the end that drains the water into the sink and allows the mat to remain dry. The rack has many unique holders that allow for putting lots of items in the rack for drying. I think this is a neat, functional rack. Although I have a dishwasher, I tend to wash my dishes by hand so this rack tends to remain on my granite counter. It is a rather neat looking item with its clear plastic, wood and stainless steel.

04/24/2014

When we purchased this dishrack, it appeared to be the perfect product for our kitchen. Unfortunately, within a year it started rusting in multiple spots. Simplehuman graciously replaced it and we sent the old product back. We wonder how well the replacement will hold up. Otherwise, this really is a perfect product for our home. We'll see...............

This wire frame is junk water runs all over your counter.I wouldn't buy it. I plan on calling simple human about this product. I'm am an very unhappy customer!!!

note from simplehuman

Thank you for your feedback. The drip tray is meant to be used with 2 of the feet pulled out - this allows the tray to be angled so that the water drains properly through the metal spout. The third foot is there to give the option of angling the drip tray vertically or horizontally. Please also ensure that the 3-hole plug is placed in the unused end, to prevent water from spilling out. A product specialist has reached out to you to provide further assistance with your dishrack.

Greatest dish rack ever!

by CindyH
05/21/2013

I do not have an automatic dish washer. I never have and I love doing dishes by hand. I have been looking for a really great looking but, functional rack to let the dishes air dry. This one is THE ONE. It hold all of the dishes from a big family meal with no trouble. I would recommend it to anyone. It's a work of art sitting out on my counter!

The best dishrack out there!

by Rosaria G
02/09/2013

I've had this dishrack for 6 years now. It looks good, holds a lot of dishes, and I clean it when it looks dirty. I just purchased a replacement for the bottom drip tray...that got old and grungy looking and a small piece broke off. The rest of the rack was fine. So I saved a lot by only having to buy the replacement tray. I have not had any problems with the rusting that others spoke of....

Good design but wire frame started rusting after 2 weeks!!!

by LaraC
01/10/2013

I like the design. No problems with drainage just a bit of tarnishing of the plastic underplate, but that s plastic for you. My main concern is that the wire frame is covered by a transparent cover which easily comes off and this starts forming rusts after a few weeks of use. If we attempt to clean the rust off the transparent layer which covers the wire frame comes off. Now I don't know whether this transparent layer is protective or not but we defintely cannot leave the dish rack looking rusty. The problem is that where it rusts underneath the plastic attachments remains on the plastic and cannot be easily cleaned off the plastic. I took it back to the shop and they gave me another one to try. After 2 weeks same thing happened to the new onw! Don't know how to solve this problem!

Mixed review

by JenniferG
01/05/2013

I have only just purchased my dishrack a few weeks ago, and I might add, for US$150.00 in my part of the world. I like the quality and the design but my major complaint is that it does not drain well, the water gathers in the two corners and eventually overflows on the counter. I did not have this problem with my cheaper rubber models.

note from simplehuman

Thank you for your feedback. If you aren't already, be sure to use the plastic feet underneath the drip tray. You can flip them out to tilt the dishrack so water drains out faster.

Totally useful dish rack

by SANDYL
10/30/2012

I like the dish rack because it makes use of the available space completely. Hard water deposits end up making it look grungy after a year or two, especially the tray, so I've had a couple of them. It looks really nice in my kitchen.

My boyfriend just said "I love the dish rack. Is 5 the maximum amount of stars?" Love all the different functions like glass hooks and drainage system. Good size for my counter holds enough dishes. Seems durable, I'd be surprised if this broke any time soon. Attractive, I like the off clear coloring of the plastic and the bamboo utensil holder is a nice touch.

This dishrack system works well for me. If it does not tarnish or rust over time like my old stainless steel one from a different company did, then I will be very happy. I like the size, style and draining system of the simplehuman system dishrack.

by KellyJ
04/21/2012

It fits in our space perfectly and looks very upscale. I love the attached draining tray-no more hard water stains on our granite counter. I also like that you can move items within to accomodate different dishes. I would add another cup hanger and may buy one later if possible. I am planning to buy both sisters a simple human rack too.

by LauraC
04/10/2012

After reading the other reviews I was a little worried about ordering this, but we love it. It does have legs that tilt it towards the sink, and it's very easy to determine where the drainage goes. It's not as big as the one it replaced, but that forces us to be more efficient. It's very attractive and durable, with a really clever design. I also purchased the cup holder and wine holder. I really like them but my husband does not, since the water drips outside of the tray.

Great for small kitchens

by Mary H
03/20/2012

It is quite handy as it holds miscellaneous items together but small enough that it doesn't take up much room on the counter. Looks attractive and it is left out all the time so it blends in with our kitchette for our Studio. Very sturdy and seems to be able to last a long time. Thank you for this great product.

Simply Great Dish Rack!

by RichardP
01/30/2012

This dish rack solved a huge problem for us. After putting in new granite countertops and sinks we found the right sink to be too small to put in a dish rack. Our new simple human rack sits nicely on the counter and drains into the smaller sink with its adjustable leg system. No standing water and plenty of room. Don't miss this one!

drain clean dish rack

by robertM
12/13/2011

the rack drains well, and the undertray stays clean, tilted toward the sink edge with a small spoon shaped liquid dispenser; rack can be placed lengthwise or widthwise. there should be an instruction about the plugs for the tilt legs and for the drain holes, and more cup holders and another chef's knife slot included

Best Dishrack Ever

11/21/2011

I have been looking for several years for a dishrack other than the usual wooden ones and/or the Rubbermaid types..my fave thing about this one is the tilting bottom feature=excess water drips right into the sink!! AWESOME beyond words plus looks great, will never rust/mold and holds a ton of stuff even though its not much bigger than your average dishrack..I LOVE it!

Good, very good

by OyaK
10/09/2011

As a newly dishwasher-less person I find this product to be very good indeed. No problem of draining the water, it is well designed and fit in my tiny New York kitchen counter. It is not that tiny I must say but for the amount of dishes it holds it is quite the right size. If you have a smaller counter you better check the dimensions cause the draining tray is much bigger that the actual thing. All and all I am very happy with it.

Classy Dishrack

by AbbyH
10/03/2011

Lovely to have a dishrack that can stay out on the counter. I hand wash our dishes, so I use it every day. Love that we have a choice of orientation for the drain and that the drain 'spout' does NOT leak water onto the counter, as others do. The knife block is very nice touch. Good lookin' and well made. Well done!

I Love This Rack

by CoreyB
08/26/2011

It's almost embarassing how much I love this dish rack, but I don't have a dishwasher, and this makes all the difference. It is so spacious, and yet somehow doesn't eat up my whole counter. This rack looks great, and is really well organized. I couldn't be happier, and I highly recommend. Worth the purchase price.

More cons than pros for our family

by JanC
05/17/2010

I have to give this item a mixed review. The rack is really well constructed out of heavy stainless steel. That's a pro AND a con, as the rack is fairly heavy. If you like to keep your dishrack under the sink, as we do, it's a workout to stow it away and get it back out again the next time you want to use it. Other pros would be that the utensil holder is spacious and has an awesome design, with slots for holding your chef's knives. A big complaint everyone in the family has concerns the area that is meant for standing dinner plates upright in slots to drip. The slots are great, but the side rails at either end of the plate slots are nonexistent. Since we actually put our dinner plates in our dishwasher and use the rack mostly for pots and pans, we find that it's difficult to prop a saucepan up in the plate slots without it falling over and out onto the counter. Bottom line: I get complaints from everyone in the family every single time they have to do the dishes. They all say they absolutely hate this dishrack and would rather I had purchased another cheapo Rubbermaid dish drainer. But I do have to give this one props for the quality of the materials.

Some good some not

by BeverlynC
03/01/2010

We are happy with many of the features of our drainer such as the materials, the dish holder and knife holder. However, we bought it so that it would "drain" water into the sink. The base is a bit high in the center and the lip edge not high enough and as a result it drains onto the counter top. Also, our sink has a raised edge and it would be nice if the feet or supports were set back a bit to allow for this. In order for the spout to reach into the sink, we have to position the front feet on the edge of the sink and don't get a good angle for drainage. We have had to make adjustments of our own to elevate the back feet. These two things combined have been quite frustrating. This would not be as much a problem for a sink with no raised edge.

Nice

by JosephS
02/26/2010

I've had this dish rack for about 6 months and it does show any signs of rust or corrosion. This is a solid dish rack. My only complaint about the design is that glasses fall over when placed on the dish-holding portion of the rack, so if I have, say, one dish and a dozen glasses, they don't fit as well in this rack as they did in my crappy plastic dish rack. The rack is less intrusive than most, and takes up a bit less space than most. It works just fine if you can't point the drain spout into your sink. Nothing really leaks out the drain holes unless you put REALLY we stuff in the rack.

Needs A Leg to Stand On

by MargoX
02/24/2010

This is a great dishrack. I was a little worried about the bamboo getting wet all the time, but so far it has held up well. It just needs one more foot because my counter is a bit tlted and I can't get the dishrack to drain correctly. Otherwise, I do love it.

The good: nice looking; metal parts work well. The bad: brittle plastic used for cup holder clip...mine broke; weak drainage; hard to clean.

note from simplehuman

Thank you for your feedback. Our dishracks are specifically designed to allow for maximum drainage. This may be a problem with the angle of the surface or the adjustable feet. Also, the cup holder is built with high grade ABS plastic and should withstand any normal use. This product is backed by a full 5 year warranty, and our customer service team has contacted you to replace the broken part. We apologize for the inconvenience.
