I am not really sure that it works. I put one in the truck and one inside the automatic garbage can lid which is also lined wit
I use it in my truck to freshen the air.
I use one inside my trash can.
I use one under my sink area.
They are being used 24-7.
I like the size and it is durable and who cares what it looks like under the sink or in the garbage can. In the truck it matches fine.

"How Sweet it is"
The charcoal filter is s pleasant edition to our household. It is easy to use and is hidden under the lid of our garbage cans. We have a trash can specifically for dog feces that we keep in the garage. When opening the lid of these containers it was extremely unpleasant. With the charcoal filter, the odor is gone completely. The best part is the longevity.

Needs Improvement
I like the idea of this product and it did work while it lasted. However, the cover around the filter is made of flimsy cardboard and supposed to be stuck to your trash can with double-sided tape. The cardboard promptly warped and began tearing while the filter was stuck to the top of my step can. This is probably partially due to the fact that the trash reached the top of the can a few times (but we can't be the only people to have waited until the last moment to take out our trash!). Soon after that the double-sided tape stopped sticking and I found the filter in the trash. I would suggest that this product would have been much better if the cover had been made from a washable plastic instead of the cardboard and affixed with velcro instead of double-sided tape. It would greatly increase the lifetime of this product and I would be willing to spend an extra dollar or two for the improvements.

Cardboard sleeve costs one star
I could easily tell how effective this filter was from Day 1. Putting one used filter in the sunlight to refresh it while the other is in use is great. BUT, any garbage bag filling up with organic matter eventually softens the cardboard sleeve for the filter. I wish the sleeve were made out of plastic, something impervious to moisture and odor. Otherwise the filter is positioned in the perfect spot beneath the lid and is highly effective in keeping odors down.

waste of money
it does not stay affixed to the inner surface for long so falls into trash after short time and therefore is a waste of money
