I spent a lot of money on my previous bin...and it turned out to be a dud! I saw this bin in a friend's kitchen and decided it had to be mine so I went home, ordered it online and it arrived within two days. It is sturdy, genuinely smear free and stands up to abuse from my three sons who are very heavy handed. It is far better than any other kitchen bin we have had, easier to empty and the odour free idea is spot on. It's also a good size which is important with the amount of rubbish we get through. Very pleased with my purchase.

First impressions where that it's bigger than it looks on the website! It certainly has drawn attention from guests... Criticisms are that Lid 'stay open' slider is a little stiff, the body does flex in normal use (the body is quite thin) and it's about three times more expensive than I'd like to pay for bin! On the plus side, it does keep odours at bay with the carbon filter, the steel bar is very sturdy and it's very easy to get the inner bucket out. Overall it seems like a functional product that will last ages.

There are several issues which don't make this bin perfect. Firstly if the back of the bin is against the wall if you put your foot down anything more than gently, the bin will hit the wall behind. So that's a frustrating, as I'll have to get the paint out even now and then to repair the damage.

Secondly (and this is partly my fault for relying on the description rather than look at the diagram) I purchased the 3 bin option for £200. I was expecting 3 compartments to put rubbish and two types of recycling items, however 3 bins means 2 bins that fit inside a larger bin. So please don't make the same mistake as me, and look at the diagram for 3 bins, rather than rely on the description.

It's a good bin, but for £200, I'm disappointed. My previous Simple Human bin was much better value, and the automatic soap dispensers are fantastic, but this bin simply isn't worth the money.
