Attractive, operates smoothly. Only one complaint/suggestion: I wish the bags were made of the newer type of bio-degradable plastic.

Put price aside and this is truly an excellent product. The finish is durable and does resist (although not completely eliminate) fringerprints and streaks. As much as you might not expect "features" from your trashcan, this actually has several useful ones: Slow close lid for cramming last minute garbage in, an open lid prop to keep it open when needed, hidden wheels to help move it around, rubber feet to prevent scratching your hardwood floors, bag grabs to help keep bags from slipping off, and of course the dual bin feature which is probably why you're buying this to begin with.

Two complaints:

1) Like many simplehuman products with slow-close lids, mine developed a loud and annoying "bwahhhh" noise on close after a couple months. Apparently this is a defect in the air canister they use, a call to simplehuman and they sent me a fixed replacement at no charge. Replacing it was relatively easy.

2) This is enormously expensive for a product that holds your trash. The day someone else decides to build a stainless steel trashcan at a reasonable price simplehuman will have to cut their prices in half to compete. But until then, your choices are overpaying for this or buying something with substantially lower quality and looks.

I would buy again, but I would be much more thrilled if they didn't gouge on price.

Looks good after months of use, holds more than I expected for its size, nicely constructed, bins pull in and out smoothly. The only flaw is that the specially made liners are expensive, but they really do fit much better than a standard trash bag.

We've had this trash can for a few months now, and it's exactly what we needed. We use the bigger, black liner for our recycling (fewer trips to the big bins in the garage!) and the smaller blue side for trash. The lid operates very smoothly, the bins fit inside perfectly and the outer surface is easy to keep clean. The overall size is great, it fits at the end of my kitchen island and doesn't impede the flow of traffic through the kitchen. It looks great, very clean and modern. My only complaint would be the small dent that was in the lid when I unboxed it, but chances are we'll add a few ourselves over the next few years, so I decided it wasn't bad enough to return the trash can.

I love this trash can. It neatly organizes my trash and recycling and is very nice to look at. It works best if you use the simplehuman trash bags though, because of the shape and size of the bins.
