The best trash can I 've ever own. I wish I had known about it earlier. My daughter owns one. That is how I made the discovery. My daughter's can is design with the foot paddle, step on the paddle and the lid comes up, where as mine you wave your hand across the top and the lid comes up. I fell in love with it as soon as it arrived. Anyone interested, go for it! You won't be disappointed .

All was ok with this can until one day while cleaning the floors I had to move the darn thing. No handles to be found I reached to grab the can from the sides and the lid opened and I repositioned my left thumb into the can. The metal shell that meets the black plastic wall was razor sharp, which cut my thumb deep with blood gushing out. I paid $250 for this can, plus you charge a wooping $30 for wall charger? Last thing I want is being cut by the darn thing. I want my money back!

This was a large sum to pay for a container that holds your trash, but it works extremely well!! I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for, and this is the best of the best. iTouchless is junk, and Simple Human is awesome! They have produced a can that only opens when you want it to, and stays open if you need it to stay open longer. When shut, it keeps the odor contained. I would order more, but this will last a lifetime so there's not a need to worry about this again!!

I really like the shape and size of the is trashcan. When used as just a trashcan it holds a lot of trash and does not need to be emptied daily like my other. I ordered the divided liners to also use a portion as recycling, however it makes both sides too small to be useful. My only issue with this trashcan is that it is quite a bit noisy when it opens and closes.

We were looking for a nice stainless steel can to match our refrigerator and hardwood floor and this was perfect.

This trash can looks awesome but before I even used this product it was broken. Not very happy when I pay that much for something that's broken

Great can. A little on the noisy side opening and closing but it wouldn't have affected my purchasing decision.

Do not need to touch the garbage can. Capacity is great. The sensor is smart enough to avoid unnecessary openings.

I love my sensor trash can! We use it every day. The size is great and is not begging to be emptied every time we use it. It seems to be very well made and looks very nice in my kitchen.

Great capacity, but it is significantly louder (opening and closing) than the previous "foot activated" sensor model. Mechanism that prevents motor stress sometimes jams preventing the door to open ("pops" while trying to open and eventually opens after 10 or so cylces - no obstruction to the lid). Sometimes door stays open indefinitely even without motion/activity near sensor. To do over again, I would have purchased the manual model of the capacity. Looks great, holds lots, appears to be manufactured well but still far from being worth $250+.

Coolest trash can ever. Only issue we have with it is it's hard to find a trash bag that fits it perfectly. Kind of an irregular size. We make it work though 4 and 3/4 stars out of 5

I love it. It was pricey but now I can't live without it. I go up to my other trash cans and expect them to open with a wave of the hand!

I love the large capacity and the ease of emptying the contents. This product is well made and durable. Best part is I know Simple Human stands by their products and no company is better at replacing non-functioning or defective items. This is why I buy from Simple Human whenever I can.

We have a very cute and curious Chocolate lab and thought that investing in the Sensor trash can would be a great idea to curtail her adventures in the trash. It has worked fabulously!! Her tail has activated the sensor a few times and by the time she realizes it and turns around, it's already shutting! Best. Can. Ever... the only real complaint is that you do need to invest in the simplehuman trash bags or you can use Glad but you'll need to cut the handles portion to make it big enough to fit. Also, after 2 months, we do need to change batteries... BUT overall, very happy!

The idea is great but the sensor does not work and when I complained to the Simplehuman via there website because they do not have a phone number I was never responded to.... What a waste of money $200 on a garbage can I have to wedge open with a spoon!!!!

I generally like everything from simplehuman and purchase things as soon as they come out. I really wanted this to work and work well. In honesty it only works about 50-75% of the time. Sometimes the lid stays open, or it tries to open and sounds jammed. Very disappointing due to the price.

We had two units with clutch issues but the third unit with the newer clutch is working fine. sensor is kind of sensitive- fit and finish is perfect and capacity is great. If you want a high tech trash can this is it. I bought the 12 volt transformer so as not to hastle with batteries.
