Works great, just what I wanted. Of course, I've only had it two weeks or so. Plenty of time for something to go wrong.

Trash can seemed great but each side should be larger, milk cartons take up the entire recycle side.

i was worried this wouldnt work well, but the can functions as it should. it would be nice if it were slightly larger all around giving more room to the cans inside, but as it is it is adequate. everyone that comes over thinks it it is nice

Absolutely fantastic!!! I use the recycling side as a green bin (for compostables) lining it with a bio-degradable bag. Absolutely LOVE this. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because I am waiting for a model that combines all three: trash/recycling/compost.

Great to use, looks fantastic next to other stainless appliances in kitchen. Kids actual want to throw away their garbage. Can is a bit smaller than regular kitchen garbage. I wish there were blue colored bags for the blue recycling bin which is covered by a garbage bag. Would buy again

Favorite thing - it works. I mean, it opens when it's supposed to and does what the marketing claims, though it falls short of reading my mind. The thing I'm most pleased about is that it opens fast. I mean, it takes 2-3 seconds to fully open, but it's about 1 second before it's open enough to do a typical throw-away. It's a good looking unit and the size is perfect for a single-person home. I live in a "single stream recycling" city, so all recycling goes in one pail. So I use one side of this unit for trash, the other recycling. I need to empty it every 2-3 days. If considering purchasing, top consideration should be size - will it fit your space. Also know that while the sensor is insensitive when the pail is closed (so it doesn't open when you're walking by), it gets very sensitive when the unit is open (per marketing, and I agree it's useful, this is so the unit doesn't close if you're spending an extended time throwing stuff out). BUT, there's a downside, depending on your space. When open, the sensor will see if ANYTHING is about 4 feet directly above the front of the can. if you have a shelf above the unit, you'll likely have a problem.

idea great bad to try to force customer to use your bag and size much to small compared to 13 gal tall kitchen need trash and recycle to be 13 gal then a great product

This is a luxury item but I love how nice the can looks. For two people, we only have to empty it 1-2 times a week.

Love this item. We recently began recycling and have found this to be a sufficient way to do so! We are still trying to get used to walking by the can and it opens automatically. Not sure if it's us or the can? But enjoy our purchase Thank you for making bags that fit perfectly !

I was very excited for this trash can because of the combination trash & recycling. To my disappointment, it came broken. Luckily, my husband was able to fix it in turn avoiding the hassle of shipping it back. Still unacceptable in my opinion, I guess it was pretty bad according to him & you'd have to be pretty handy to tackle that project (I never saw it because I was out of town). Everything is great with this trash other than the sensor. Your hand has to be right over the sensor for it to open. And the lid will close on you if your taking a long time changing the trash which is very annoying! It just decides when it wants to close & once it has started closing there's no way to stop it unless u manually lift the lid which ur not supposed to do. Also, if ur trash is overloaded (plastic bottles for example) it will continue to try to close making an awful noise until u remove what's preventing it from closing all the way. All in all it is a nice looking product, very streamlined, good size and great for recycling so u don't have to run to the garage 50 times a day to throw out recycling but the sensor needs work, I mean that is what your paying the substantial amount of money for so it should work properly.

This can is genious!

We have had this trash can for a month, and so far it performs well. It is compact enough to fit easily where our old trash can was, but still big enough to hold a week's worth of trash and recycling (for a household of 3). It looks great and functions well.

Well, I thought this trash can would open as soon as I would pass by it so I can throw out the trash, but no. It doesn't do that. I have to swerve my hand over the sensor on top for the lid to open. For that, I would have gotten the trash can with the foot peddle. It's kind of a bit annoying.

Awesome can. Kids love it. Wife likes it. Most of all my customer service experience was top notch in making sure I got what I wanted and was completely satisfied. Recommended to all my friends!

I love this trash can, it looks great in my kitchen. However, I wish it had a button to keep it open and which I can push again to make it automatic. It been working flawlessly, but recently there are times when it opens and forgets to close. I do not know why it does not close. I would walk away and come back 5 minutes later and its still open. So I wave my hand over the sensor and it closes a few seconds later. I don't know why this happens.
