Works great no smell for 1 week nice looking great handle.

First time with a bucket composted, and I love it. Though mine is under the sink, it is stylish enough to be on the counter. I haven't smelled a thing and makes composting easy.

Everything about the product is good, but I am worried about the gauge of the metal. I have not dented it yet, but it does not look or feel too sturdy. I saw another one (after purchase) w/ flutes which would stiffen it. Any way this is just my opinion since I have had several over the years and only wanted to purchase one more! This may be the last one? Thanks

Works as advertised. We eat a lot of fruits and veggies, so we empty it almost every day. It looks smart on the counter, doesn't take up much space, and is easy to clean. The metal ring holds the biodegradable bags in place. Love it!

I really like this compost pail. We were using a kitchen dishpan and it was very unsightly. Now we can fill the pail with kitchen scraps and nobody knows what is there. There is no odor like there was before and it is a nice stainless steel container that is easy to clean. I am very happy with this purchase. I just wish it came in a little bigger size. I have to make more frequent trips to the compost pile.

We both just remodeled our kitchen and starting composting and LOVE our new composting pail. It looks bright and clean on the counter by the sink, seals tightly and with the carbon lid odor filter keeps food smells in and when making a trip to the compost bin flies out. The size works well for a daily trip to the bin (may have to do two if have to dispose of usual waste and, say, a watermelon rind). My favorite feature is the ease with which it can be cleaned.

It's great looking on the kitchen counter (much better than the trash bags I used to use!) and easy to carry; now I'm actually using the compost bin in the back yard! I got fruit flies the 1st time in use so now I empty it every couple of days - I might try using 2 filters. I also accidently dumped the ring in the compost bin and my husband dug it out when we realized it was missing; simple solution: let the husband empty it!

This is an easy to use and clean compost pail. The filters are not as great, in my opinion, as others have reviewed. I certainly use two filters to help control smells better, but realistically, have to empty every couple days, so not sure the filters are that helpful. Still like the size and function all the same.

This is a great compost option for the kitchen. It's large enough so that you don't feel as though you have to empty it all the time, but small enough so that you don't start an ecosystem in your kitchen. The charcoal filters really seem to do the trick because you can never smell what's brewing inside and the stainless steel is easy to clean and prevents bacterial growth that eats away at other containers.

Bought this so my wife wouldnt avoid composting for the mess of our previous bootleg setup. Matches nicely with a stainless steel kitchen. The charcoal seems to really keep odors under control. Other than the hefty price tag, this item was very worthwhile.

Our housing association won't let us keep our trash can outside our house - the only acceptable place is out of sight in the garage. But we have a dog and in summer the heat makes the trash can in the garage smell really bad. We're using our compost pail to keep dog poop from smelling, and so far we have no complaints. There's enough space for dog poop for a week and we simply empty into the trash can when it goes to the curb. Not what the compost pail was intended for, but very useful nevertheless!

I like it's size, handle and combination of bamboo and chrome. Its design really reduce the oder significantly. It's easy to wash or clean too.

This beautiful garbage can has replaced an old used paint container which was really sorry looking and had a cover which was not secure. We hide our new pail under the sink because it fits perfectly even though it is a shame to hide it. The cover is secure and even has a filter to keep the smells to a minimum, which was a problem at times with the old one. It is everything that the company said it was and very convenient to use. I ordered it despite the fact that it was a little pricey. I won't hesitate to order from Simplehuman again. Good experience.

We had been using a plastic container with a snap close lid for our in-the-house compost material for a couple years, but always struggled with the smell and insects. This container from Simple Human is awesome! Very easy to use. I especially like the metal ring at the top to hold my newspaper liner in place as well as the charcoal insert in the lid which keeps the odor down.

I used to use a enameled pan for our kitchen compost, and this pail is far superior. It holds more, it has a lid to keep the fruit flies away, and it has a charcoal filter to keep smells down. On top of all that, it is a great looking piece of "furniture" being stainless and teak.

Use this everyday. Looks nice and is well made. Should have purchased biodegradable bags. Filters take care of odors. Not sure I like the wood in the handle but no complaints with the product.

I use this every day as a way to add veggie scraps to my compost. It helps keep the sink drain unclogged and reduces the amount of wet trash. Best of all, it does not smell from the variety of organic material that goes in to it during a day or two of use. Easy to clean after emptying.

I love this compost pail. It holds a week's worth of compost (actually, it held two weeks' worth once) without letting out smells. It's sleek and discrete and can fit easily (and unobtrusively) in small spaces.

I use this can daily for coffee grounds, tea bags etc. for composting. It sits on the counter and with the filter it doesn't smell.

My wife loves this compost bin. It looks very elegant in our kitchen. My only concern is it is a little smaller than our previous bin.

I'm unable to have a garbage disposal due to being in an older house with a septic tank. After my husband completely remodeled our kitchen, I needed some way to discretely keep my garbage out of site. This compost pail is good looking, well made and easy to clean. Perfect solution for me.

This is a great pail - easy to clean, sturdy, easy to transport. The only drawback is that bugs can find their into the pail through the ventilation in the lid. We're troubleshooting the issue.

This sleek can, with carbon filter, fits perfectly in the aluminum sink and is easily transportable to the compost pile. I recommend using the simple human bags with it, as there is no mess whatsoever! I love it!!

I have purchased other compost pails. Years ago, I bought the small green plastic compost pail found in popular gardening catalogs and I bought the country crock. Both proved to be too small, both were a mess to clean up, the filters failed and the country crock broke. I bought this one because of a friend's recommendation. I have had it for roughly 2 months and it has worked like a charm. No smell (I bought plenty of extra filters based on my previous experience...don't know what I will do with them all) and the stainless steel is easy to clean. I cannot recommend this pail highly enough. I do think biodegradable liners are helpful, I use them and they fit just fine in this compost pail. I empty my pail every two weeks and this pail is just perfect for my needs.

I also recently purchased this product for my remodelled kitchen. I am so impressed and pleased with it. When prepping compostables the lid hangs conviently on the side. The stainless is so easy to clean and it will sit neatly or stow away under the counter. I highly recommend this item.
