I love this guy-it's the perfect size for my new apartment and makes it easy to toss trash and recycling and keep them separate. I just wish there was an alternative to screwing it into my rented cabinets (don't tell :)).

I was looking for a solution to having my can out in the open and this is exactly what I need. I put it in an under sink cabinet and it fits perfectly. (I did measure several times to make sure before I ordered it) It was easy to install by myself and only took about an hour. I love the way it slides out to use and then back again to conceal. My only concern is the plastic bags for the cans. I got in touch with SimpleHuman to inquire about a biodegradable liner in the dimensions needed for both the garbage and recycle cans. It seems counter to recycling to have a plastic bag to hold the items - same goes for the garbage that goes in the landfill. I was told the only bags they have are plastic, so I use paper grocery bags which don't fit well, but work OK. They do get wet in the garbage side,though. However, all in all, I am really happy and proud of myself for solving my problem!

I love my new Garbage/Recycle bin. We actually recycle more now cause we have a choice.

I love this trash/recycler combo! To glides smoothly, is very well made, and functions perfectly. The only downsides would be that it's hard to find trash liners the right size. We just buy the standard size ones and tie them off around the outside of the bins, and they work fine. Also, the recycling bin doesn't clear the inside of the cupboard 100%, even when it's pulled out all the way.. I can still fit a gallon milk jug in there, so it's not that big of an issue. I still love the product!

Looks good, works good, For the particular application this would have been better if it was one inch shorter in overall height. It is under a sink in the kitchen. I have concern about the glides holding up in a lesss than pristine environment. It might be better if there was a way to shield the bearing mechanism from dust and debris as in an undermount glide system commonly used in drawers (Blum tandem series for example).

This is an excellent idea, a trash can and recycling bin in one! Perfect size for the two of us as one bin keeps trash and recyling together until disposal day.

It was easy to install but I am concerned I can not buy recycle bags for it.

Before purchasing this product we had a simplehuman freestanding stainless steel trash can which worked perfectly. After remodeling the kitchen, we moved the old can to a different room and installed the under-the-counter model. The good: the slide mechanism is well made and the ball bearings provide a very smooth sliding action. It also fits perfectly in the cabinet beneath the sink. The not-so-good: during installation, two of the screw heads stripped and I had to use my own replacement screws. I also found that the twin pail configuration did not work well in our kitchen: after years of using the larger model we found the capacity too small. I ended up purchasing a single can from simplehuman which fits into the same slide and that has worked out much better. However we’ve discovered that because the can has no lid, the trash must be emptied on a more frequent basis than the older model. Overall, the product is good for what it is.

This is simply a can't go wrong purchase! Especially if you have a smaller apartment and you want your trash hidden under your sink. It's the perfect size because you can empty the trash part of the bin daily so that you don't have any smelly odors lingering around while you wait for the trash to fill up. I especially love the recyclin bin as well because I can easily seperate the trash and recycables without taking up any additional space. Very easy to install and it is super sturdy and smooth! It's a win win and worth every penny! I first saw this item in my cousin's apartment. She had the larger trash bin only. When she saw my dual one, she decided she needs to get the double bins as well. I'm not exactly sure, but I would like to think that the double bins fit in the standard one bin rail as well! =) It's a FANTABULOUS ITEM! You won't regret it!

This is a great trash duo if you live in a single or coupled household and/or your trash chute is right on your floor. Very well made and keeps trash and recycling items organized and out of sight!

It looks very nice and constructed well. Its great size for my small size family, but normally my recycle (blue) gets filled faster and to empty the blue one you have to take the trash can(black)out in order to remove the blue, that I found not practical!

This pull-out, double bin is the perfect size for our cabinet. Neither of them hold a huge amount, but we put empty bottles in one, and paper in the other. We've switched them, and put the larger one in back, and that solves the problem some people have of accessibility. The glides are strong and run well, and it was easy to install.

Just moved into a fancy new place and I'm very picky about what I put into it. I'd been eyeing this reciprocal for quite some time but I could never have imagined how convenient it has made my life. Without having a corner for a garbage can it fits perfectly underneath the sink. Slides out silently with so much ease. I think I actually show it off when I'm cooking for people. It looks so cool, especially with the blue recycle bin in the back. And It actually fits a lot of stuff. I empty it once or twice a week and I cook for myself almost every day. I highly highly recommend this product. I will actually admit that I love it so much that I actually tell people that in my new New York skyline, swimming pool and amenity heavy building it's still my favorite object!

We purchased the Simplehuman 35-litre counter counter pull-out recycler, and my only regret is that we didn't buy one sooner! Installed perfectly, glides very smoothly, and works exactly as advertised. Highly recommended.

Our 100 year old kitchen was upgraded in the early 1940's so it needed a complete redo. We have limited space, and built our own cabinets to maximize space. We wanted an undercounter recycling and trash center but most available units are too large but leave unused space. This unit and the matching trash can maximize space, install easily and have adequate space for several days worth of recyling and trash.

Pretty much says it all. Really like the product; easy to install.

Nice design but bins are much smaller than they appear in the photos. The blue (recycle) container is tiny and fills up much too quickly -- my family and friends make fun of how small it is. It installed very easily and it slides very smoothly, and it's attractive... but it bears repeating: way too small for the recyclables.

I was looking for a pullout recycling center that would work in a small space. This is the only one that I could find that would fit in a 10"wide space. I could still use the other half of the cabinet for tray storage. Very well constructed, easy to install

I bought this trash/ recycle system because it fit in a small cabinet space I could convert. It works great.

This trash bin is ideal for a small apartment. It is tucked away and easy to access. Just make sure that the base of your cabinet is flush with the frame around it, otherwise you will not be able to extend the bins from the tract. I had to screw a piece of plywood to the bottom of my cabinet and then screw the tract into the plywood in order to have the frame clear the cabinet when extending it. Wasn't a big deal just wish they would have mentioned it along with all of the dimensions that were given for this product.

Great design, and easy to install. For us the sizes of the cans should be reversed, with blue being the larger. Our trash pickup uses blue for recycling. The color does not matter so we just reversed the purpose. If you like your bags lipped over the top, it takes a little more effort but overall this is exactly what was needed in the kitchen, and it works better than a bag for recycling lying next to the trash can.

I have been looking for a way to sort recycling from trash for a while and I am sooo glad this is what I choose. We've had been piling our recycling in the corner near the trash, and it's so wonderful to have it all neatly stored away now, no more cluttery pile in the kitchen! The metal is very sturdy, and cannot be pulled off by a curious child or dog wanting to play in the garbage can. Either my husband or I mention every day how much we love our new garbage/recycling can, I would recommend this to anyone wanting to get organized!

Look no further and buy this set up. I bought two, one with one can alone and the other with two cans *recycler*. I am using the large can for trash and the blue can for recycle and the one behind it for potatoes and onions and such. I never had a proper place for those before and this works GREAT! I love the set up. It is very durable and looks great. I love it much better than a trash compactor.

It is wonderfully constructed, I am happy every time I pull it out. I haven't been recycling cans and bottles because it was too messy -- this makes it easy. And I feel very virtuous.

I love not having some ugly trash can sitting in a corner of the kitchen. This is hidden away just like I prefer--but very easy to access still. The size is great and it's durable. We've had it for maybe 4 or 5 months and haven't had any issues at all. I would recommend purchasing the simplehuman trash bags that are meant to go with this. They fit perfectly and it looks much neater.

We love this double bin. It is well constructed. We've used it for approximately a year and have absolutely no qualms in saying it works well, is very useful in small spaces or for small quantities. It is under our kitchen sink, one bin for trash the other for recyclables.

Had to return it because it would not fit...ie..plumbing pipes.

The system was perfect for hiding the trash and recycled items under the sink in my very small kitchen. There are only two things missing: lids for each container. Though inside a cabinet, I would still like to have the garbage covered. I am still trying to find something that would fit. And I contacted customer service who, unfortunately, could not provide a solution

As a single man I don't generate a lot of trash--mostly recycling. I have a separate bucket for most recycling, and use the blue on included with this for cash returnable bottles and cans. The slide works perfectly and was a snap to install under the sink. (just be careful that you have enough clearance with pipes etc.

over all this is a good trash can. I bought mainly to help eliminate the smell of trash in my kitchen. Being able to hide it under the sink (or in any cabinet) gets the job done. The only thing I found wrong with it was the size. Most trash bags you buy at the grocery store are too big which means you have to buy them more frequently and you're emptying the containers more often. But at the same time it forces family members to take larger trash items directly outside.

The convenience of having your trash and recycling together is great, though the combo results in small space for trash. It's only a minor inconvenience and you empty the trash less when you recycle anyway. Also, I use the recycling can just for bottles/cans that need to be rinsed and have a separate, larger bin for paper products. If you need a space saver, this will work great. But if you have room, I'd purchase 2 separate cans.

This was just the perfect size to fit into a cabinet by my sink. I can just pull it out while doing dishes and washing recycling containers to throw them in. I don't have to walk back across the kitchen or to the garage to throw things bit by bit away.

the quality of the product is top notch and the concept-idea is great, however the design is quite poor. the size of the "recycling can" is way too small to be useful, throw 2 half gallon cartons in there and good luck fitting anything else. I always also have a lot of trouble pulling out the trash bag of whichever can is behind, since the top edge of the kitchen cabinet will get on the way as the rolling system won't bring the cans completely out for overhead clearance. I'd much rather get the single sliding pull out can product and at least have one useful bigger can for regular trash, but my boyfriend threw away the packaging before I had the chance to give this double-can version a try for a couple of days, otherwise I'd have returned it!

The pull-out recycler is a good product in that it fits in a small space and offers trash and recycling containers. For whatever reason, the track does not roll smoothly and requires a little extra effort to pull all the way out to access the recyling container. Given the small size, both containers need to be emptied daily, which actually keeps the odor down. As I am sure what most did, we use the smaller blue can for trash, and the larger black can for recycle.

It is great in our new house. Easy to put together and fit nicely. Very convenient. I wish it was bigger, but then, it probably wouldn't fit in our space if it was. I do hope they start to make recycle bags that fit into the recycle bin rather than using the full bag. Other than that, it is a delight to use!

I have limited space under my kitchen sink and was drawn by the way the simplehuman pull-out recycler packs a lot of trash into a small space. Alas, it didn't quite fit. It did, however, fit--just barely--under the kitchen sink at our weekend cottage. It's well made and the perfect size for a weekend's worth of trash and recyclables. Installation was fairly easy, but there are a few things that bug me. First, because the unit is so tall, I must pull it out in order to deposit trash in the front bin. Second, the slider is pretty stiff, which means I have to give it a good tug to slide it out. I'm hoping that it will loosen up over time. To be fair, I installed it in a cabinet where it just barely fit and that may account for the difficulties I've encounters. My advice if you're thinking about purchasing is to measure the space available very carefully and find another alternative if it looks like a tight fit.

The product itself is actually very good. Sturdy frame, solid rails, nice colored containers (although I would prefer for both of them to be the same size). What I found surprising is poor design of the rail base, specifically its length. I connected the base inside the cabinet as close to the door as possible. Actually, I did such precise job that right now when I close my cabinet door the back of it actually touches the curved handle-like protrusion on the frame. The problem is that the base is too short. When I pull my containers all the way out, the back one only comes out half way from inside the cabinet. That makes it extremely difficult to put anything in the recycling container that is wider than 3 inches. Also, in order to remove the back container, I must first remove the front one. My old undercounter containers were nowhere near as sturdy and nice as the ones I got from simplehuman, but they came out all the way and were much easier to access.

Cans are very small. May be better purchasing larger bin vs. waste & recycle bin.

I replaced a broken garbage compactor with the Simple Human recycler. My space was very limited, so few product choices were available to me. This one installed easily and I have been very pleased with the quality of the hardware. My contractor liked it too. Said he was going to get one for his own home. I also found the same product in my local hardware store...they tend only to carry the good stuff.

Well built, sturdy. Make sure if you're putting it under the sink you account for the plumbing above. And if you're putting it behind an existing pull-out trash cabinet, there's no provision for attaching your cabinet door to the hardware.

As long as you are mindful of the size, this under the sink setup works great. Easy to install and sturdy

I really like this trash/recycle thingee. It's perfect if you don't have a lot of kitchen space and don't have a lot of stuff underneath your sink. Also, if you don't have tons of trash everyday. For me, it's a perfect fit.

The double trash/recycling can is very useful along with space saving qualities. I just wish we had room for larger containers.

Despite its small size, I rather take the garbage out everday then bare the eye sore of a larger, floor standing, general refuse & recycling station in my Kitchen/Dining/Living Area. The price was definately unflattering. However, the solution was overall effective; Finally, a two in one, hide away refuse/recycling unit that makes aesthetics of the general area all the more desirable.

Wanted a slide out garbage can but was worried nothing would be able to fit under the small cabinets we have under our kitchen sink. Simple Human's website's dimensions were accurate down to the 1/4", and sure enough it fits! Works great, slides smoothly, not a chincy product. Now with a recycling bin next to the sink, it's very convenient to rinse out cans and containers so they won't stink before recycling day pick-up.

Yes is really a maybe on recommendation. Well constructed but containers are too small and adding garbage bags a little cumbersome.

I love this trash can! It's the pefect size. I didn't need one of those huge, bulky trash cans that the that take forever to fill and usually gather smell. This trash can is the perfect size, and I love having the recycling area, it makes my recycling easier and more tidy. This trash can is the size of one of those other ones. I love it! GREAT QUALITY!

I saw this product in consumer reports which rated it the highest and best buy. Did my measurements and it fit under my sink!. Ordered it and it arrived in a few days and was installed promptly which ease. It works great and i'm more than happy! I'd recommend this to anyone.

This container easily fits into one side of an average size kitchen cab leaving room to store trash bags and cleaning supplies. Good capacity. We are a famliy of two and it fills up about every four to five days. Out of sight and out of the way! Very sturdy...should last a lifetime. Thanks!

The only draw back I find, is the unit should have full extension guides so the rear trash container would extend all the way out.
